The “Crazed Cornfield Maze” is a 20 acre corn field maze that will have you twisting and turning in tall corn! Come and test your directional skills. This is a great outdoor event for all ages. We would love to see you scramble, so come and see us. In addition to the maze, there is also pick-your-own pumpkins, corn kernel play box and playground. Pick out your own pumpkin from our pumpkin piles, we have all shapes and sizes. We also have, season permitted, Indian corn, pie pumpkins, mini pumpkins, big mac pumpkins and gourds.

Corn Mazes open through October
We have a 10 acre corn maze that is interactive and educational (Colorado agriculture and history). We have a 2 acre haunted corn maze. There is a pumpkin patch, kiddie maze, petting zoo, pony rides, kernel corn box, jumping castle, and photo op stands. The petting zoo, pony rides, and the jumping castle are available Friday – Sunday. We have group discounts of 10% for 10 or more. Both mazes are $14 for adults and $9 for children, and $11 for military.

Wind your way through the corn and help Farmer Green find his lost animals. Life-size animal cutouts are hidden throughout the maze for fun photo opportunities. The maze can be viewed from two 15-foot tall illuminated bridges. Visitors under the age of 10 can explore the mini-maze.

Tickets include one hayride, barrel train ride (for children 12 and under) and unlimited jumping on a giant pillow. Pony rides and hamster balls are available for an additional fee. An array of food vendors sell favorite fall foods such as funnel cakes, hotdogs, freshly squeezed lemonade and kettle corn.

In an effort to reduce waste, printed maps will not be available at the maze. Visit this page in September to download a map of the maze.

The lights are out in the Corn Maze and brave visitors can find their way through with only the light of a glow stick. Note: this maze is not haunted.

Children’s Tours, Parties & Festival We have several great options for your children of all ages to have fun at the RMPR 7-days a week.
Self-Guided Tours Monday – Friday 9 a.m to 5:00 p.m. throughout October. (We close at 6:00 p.m.) Cost: $7 per child No reservations necessary. Just come to the Market and purchase your tickets. The children get their hands stamped with a fun ink faced character and off they go to have great fun. Bring a picnic lunch and stay for the day! Your children will love our activities:

  • 1. Paint-A-Pumpkin – You get one pie-pumpkin to paint all you want! Do this one first and let it dry while you’re having fun on the other activities. Make sure to take it home!
  • 2. Inflated Jumping Obstacle Course – As long as they can jump!
  • 3. Corn Maze – As many times around they want.
  • 4. Hay Bale Maze – Have fun getting lost and found a hundred times!
  • 5. A baggie of feed for the cute and cuddly animals in the Petting Zoo. The Petting Zoo is not open during the week, only on weekends. But, you get to feed them by hand through the big wire fence! They will love you.
  • 6. Depending on the weather, you’ll get to see the Honey Beeeeeezzz Observatory Hive in their wonderful new bee hive hut too!

Harvest Farm’s Fall Festival 2016

Get lost in the family fun! Visit Harvest Farm’s annual Fall Festival and Corn Maze. The event features a 10-acre corn maze, pig races, hay wagon rides, corn cannons, petting zoo, natural play area, hay bale maze and more!
Harvest Farm, an outreach of the Denver Rescue Mission, is a 209-acre working farm and long-term rehabilitation center in Wellington, Colorado. Accommodating up to 72 men, the Farm helps those recovering from chronic homelessness and addiction attain self-sufficiency in a community setting. Simple pumpkin patch in a beautiful setting. Our pumpkins are out in the field and we have plenty of wheel barrels to take out to retrieve them. We do not charge admission, or parking. This is a step back in time on one of Colorado’s oldest centennial farms. We have gourds, straw bales and cornstalks, too. Our pumpkins are just .35/lb. Our season opening is on October 1st 9-5 and October 2nd 11-4.  On these dates we will have hayrides, food, music, antiques, and a petting zoo.  No admission or parking charged. After the festival our hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m daily (as long as weather and supply last).

FRISCO CELEBRATES HALLOWEEN WITH 3 EVENTS 

The Town of Frisco will be celebrating Halloween with 3 events: Mountain Mentors’ Haunted House from Thursday, October 29 – Saturday, October 31; Nightmare at the Museum on Friday, October 30; and Frisco Trick-or-Treat Street on Saturday, October 31.

  • Haunted House, Thursday, October 29-Saturday, October 31, 2015:

The former Frisco community center at 110 3rd Avenue (corner of 3rd Avenue and Granite Street) will be unrecognizable once it is transformed into a haunted schoolhouse by the Town of Frisco and the Mountain Mentors Teen Program, Activities Run by Youth (ARBY). This annual haunted house is a creative and spooky labor of love for local volunteers and youth. The haunted house is largely imagined, created and staffed by local youth who gain valuable entrepreneurial skills during this project.

The Haunted House will be open from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31.  The Haunted House is recommended for ages 7 and up, and guests are invited to drop by for a good scare for a good cause benefiting Mountain Mentors Teen Program, ARBY.  The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for students or $20 for a family 4 pack.

  • Nightmare at the Museum, Friday, October 30, 2015:
    Guests are invited to start their historic Halloween experience at 4:00 p.m.at the Summit County Library in Frisco with “nightmare readings” by local favorite Patrick McWilliams who will narrate tales of supernatural terror and suspense.

Following the readings, the Frisco Historic Park is hosting an afterhours reception from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress in Gothic or Victorian attire and explore the Frisco Historic Park by lantern.  Light refreshments and treats will be provided.

“Folks often wonder if the Frisco Historic Park and Museum are haunted and there is no better way to find out than to explore the Museum and Park at night by lantern,” stated Simone Belz, Frisco Museum Director.

  • Trick-or-Treat on Frisco Main Street, Saturday, October 31, 2015:

Trick-or-treaters are invited to Frisco’s Main Street and Historic Park on Saturday, October 31 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for trick-or-treating. Bright orange jack-o-lanterns hanging outside of Main Street businesses and on buildings at the Frisco Historic Park will indicate that businesses are handing out treats. Frisco Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7th Avenue to Madison Avenue from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. to accommodate little ghouls and goblins.

“It can be challenging to trick-or-treat in a community with many seasonally occupied homes so the business community rallies to stay open late and host trick-or-treaters on Main Street. It is wonderful to experience this level of community support and to be able to see all of the kids, parents and dogs dressed up for Halloween together right on Main Street,” stated Nora Gilbertson, Town of Frisco Events Manager.

  • Candy Give Back, November 1-8, 2015:

For the second year, the Town of Frisco is participating in a candy give back program. Children are invited to donate some of their Halloween candy after selecting their favorites to keep. Stork & Bear Co. is partnering with the Frisco/Copper Information Center (300 Main Street), Frisco Elementary and Summit County Preschool as drop off points for donated candy from November 1 – 8. This candy will then be donated to a veterans/active military organization, Operation Gratitude, so that it will be enjoyed by both active duty service members andveterans. Participants are asked to only donate fresh Halloween candy and not candy from other holidays earlier in the year. COLORADO STRONG has new meaning again in Boulder County and beyond

We are suffering yet another blow this year in our beautiful state, working on recovering from  the Waldo Canyon Fire last year, the Black Forest Fire this year, the Theater Shootings, and before that Columbine… we come back.. and we fight and we band together. This is just what we do here… Is it in the water? The desire to help, to pitch in, to do what it takes? I don’t know.

SOCIAL MEDIA MAKING A BIG DIFFERENCE DURING FLOODS

Social media has been a huge part in all of the recent disasters with my good friend Misty Montano at 9News leading the charge giving classes and pushing people into the Twitter/Vine/Instagram/Facebook world and teaching them to use it for good.. That’s how we met.. on Twitter… Now all the news channels are on board as well as most of the OEM’s, Sheriff’s, Humane Societies, it’s flowing so nicely. Is there confusion? Yes of course and mis-information.. yes.. but we all pull together and try our best.. How is this different from what other people have experienced? I didn’t really know until I met Harper Mumi on Facebook. That’s not her real name because she wants to stay anonymous.  She showed up on a Flood Disaster Lost & Found Pets page I created to help get the fur babies back to their humans. As we chatted she shared how different it had been for her during Hurricane Irene.. she was scared, alone, knew the flood was coming but could find no one online or anywhere to ask questions, get help or tell WHERE exactly SAFE was… She wrote this essay (though she wouldn’t call it that) and with her permission I’m happy to share it here.

#COFlood has brought out ‘internet warriors’. These are the guys that are saving the day- Coordinating efforts. They’re not waiting- they just create an FB page and run with it. People help. They follow the same self-organization principle that Nature does, in my opinion. It’s great- Social media saved the day. If it weren’t for FB, many, many people right now would be in soul searing utter chaos. I’m SO proud to contribute my time to this effort, tiny as it is, for an online but not internet savvy girl. Right now, THE WHOLE WORLD is watching, knows about it, feels for them- is trying to help. From South Africa to Brazil to Vermont. We’re Watching, and helping where we can. It’s 2013 America and the Internet exists and people are online~ period. No quibbles. Social media is the Driving Force behind this ENTIRE Relief Effort. I truly believe that FB is changing the world- and tho I generally eschew the pop-culture bandwagon, I see clearly that it has been an invaluable tool for the entire communities and the state. I couldn’t get ONE official or local person who knew anything about anything during Hurricane Irene and our Vermont flood, and no one was online at all: not ONE PERSON here in the Mad River Valley. I’m thinking that the difference these FB pages made in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who were shocked out of their gourds~ watching their lawns turn into massive, roiling rivers with toolsheds and trees washing by, Scared Sh*tless and not knowing where to go or what to do as walls of water come towards them from either side and the culvert breaks underneath one as if they’re in a film, It’s VERY life shatteringly frightening. And it changes one FOREVER. It’s true large scale devastation, but this time~ People KNOW about it and everyone’s HELPING. No one is Alone, if they don’t want to be. Comfort in Numbers. This Relief effort took off before the waters even receded and crews have been on the ground and helping people ever since, They coordinate online- find each other- know what to do, where to go- where to get help. This is one time I think we have to look to FB as a lifesaver, and the internet in general. To NOT have had an online response would have left these people in the dust. We Waited, here in Vermont. The town Waited. No storming of the razed Castle walls of hoards of Volunteers and spectators and participants. It was “The Perpetual time sucking Waitingness Continuum”. It was bad, here. And the worst of it? No one knew. The world was still spinning and yet everything had changed, in one gobsmackingly terrestrial celestial millennial moment. Colorado didn’t wait for anyone to tell them what to do. They Vini’d Vidi’d Vici’d – AND I LOVE THEIR RESULTS. Rescues are happening, people are already cleaning up beside and for and with other people. And it’s still only the very next day in most communities. The flooding doesn’t just disappear it slithers up the River like a snake, leaving NOTHING even approaching Normalcy in it’s wake. Wow~ What a difference. Their resources, their funds… I’m thrilled that volunteers are lining up in droves. In Vermont, one can’t even get their wall fixed from Irene. They might still have a collapsed well and not the basic necessity of enough running water. Coloradans are enjoying A HUGE GROUNDSWELL OF donations and volunteers. People are SHOWING UP TO HELP. They C’est Arrive themselves to the front lines and hold the hands of those who need it. They’re bringing GOODS, and SERVICES, and MONEY. People are giving away things for free- like drywall. Free! And a volunteer will deliver it, and probably fix that wall- insulation included -and figure out how to get enough running water because one is a Goddamned Mess of a person because you just experienced your life get swallowed and spit out by the Behemoth Satanic Jauggernaut named Hurricane Irene, and that it appeared that no one was alive left anywhere in the world, including one’s very own state, and that NO ONE in the world even KNEW that a Flood of such Amazingly Biblical proportions had Decimated Lives, Land, Livelihoods… Mother Nature swept away souls with the rushing, vying, clashing waters, into the dust bin. Souls that have not yet been retrieved in toto. These guys, the Coloradans, are just popping up all over the place, online, in real life, in the State, on the ground. They’re helping EVERYONE, regardless of their circumstance, status, how long they’ve lived there, their political and life views. They’re filling the Voids of Desperation, of Insanity. There are Real Live People in Colorado- everywhere where one looks: Helping, staying with one person, one at a time, reaching out to other volunteers and solving problems together ~ ’Til it’s DONE. No one, Anywhere in Colorado, is going to wind up living like they’re in the third world, without the things Americans have and make sure their neighbors have. That is not a shout out to our society, just an observation of the facts. They’re pulling together and Everyone gets fixed- FULLY. It’s the Real World~ made possible only because of the Internet. They’re pooling resources and using their strengths, letting people do what they’re good at, and someone else does the other thing that they’re good at, and everything gets DONE. ~ Volunteers are reading about a NEED online and then they OFFER to fill it. It blows my Mind. Well done, Colorado. I’m duly Impressed. It’s all about the internet, too. Without FB and others, NONE of this would be happening SO QUICKLY- before it even started, barely. Before Lives went down the Rabbit Hole never to find purchase on terra firma again. And having benefited from the kindness of strangers, they can resume their live, love their kids, cuddle with their animals, comfort one another, and MOVE PAST this Smite from the Heavens. It’s AMAZING. I’ll bet these guys don’t even have a leaky faucet and I’ll Damn Double Better bet that EVERYONE has enough running water in their homes when those Volunteers are done. These guys are actually living in America- and they’re ONLINE! Long Live those individuals who logged on to FB and made a difference. Hail the Internet. Just plain ol’, Well Done.
