Annual Halloween events are back to provide family fun
October is one of the best times for family fun in Castle Rock.
Celebrate the changing season at Harvest Festival Oct. 15
Cooler temperatures, changing leaves and pumpkin-spice lattes all signs that fall is in the air. Celebrate the season where the food is richer, the drinks are warmer and the beer is crisper at the Town’s Harvest Festival.
Join the festivities from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Festival Park. The park will be transformed with autumn activities.
The Festival Park Pumpkin Patch will have pumpkins available for purchase ($3 to $5). Carve the pumpkins onsite with the help of volunteers and provided tools. Then, add the pumpkin creation to the Great Pumpkin Wall. The wall of pumpkins will be lit around 6:30 p.m. for everyone to enjoy.
Plus, stick around for the outdoor showing of the seasonal classic, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!”
Don’t miss this fall event for the entire family. Visit the face painter, bring out your competitive side for seasonal games and enjoy the mini hay-bale maze. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
Looking to stay active this season? Start the event off right with the HarvestFest 5K. Runners will get a great view of the fall foliage as they complete the course along East Plum Creek trail and Downtown.
The race begins at 2 p.m. Preregistration is $30. Day of registration is $35. Plus, every participant gets a free pumpkin to carve, race photos and a free beer at the finish line.
More information about the event, including registration for the 5K, is available at CRgov.com/HarvestFest.
