Steamboat All Arts Festival Thursday, August 19 – Sunday, August 22, 2010
The Steamboat All Arts Festival has become one of the most artistically collaborative events in the state, even being awarded by the Colorado Chamber of Commerce Executives for best event/community program for 2009 it’s inaugural year! The four-day event highlights the amazing arts and culture in the Yampa Valley by incorporating all aspects of the arts into one cohesive event. This event doesn’t stop at just visual art. In fact this event prides itself on “Going beyond the canvas… music, performing, visual, literary and culinary arts.”
The festival’s opening event is a performance of Georges Bizet’s Carmen sung by Metropolitan Opera and Emerald City Opera cast members at the Stings Music Pavilion on Thursday, August 19th at 7:00 p.m. As one of the most beloved operas of all-time, performed by world class artists, it is easy to that the Steamboat All Arts Festival is truly connecting people to art. It is rare to see a performance of this caliber in Steamboat Springs and event organizers hope to attract big numbers for such a distinguished performance.
Festival-goers can expect even more from the notable Yampa River Art Stroll this year with increased opportunities to view and purchase fine art on Yampa Street in historic Steamboat Springs. As the heart of the All Arts Festival schedule, the Yampa River Art Stroll is a booming hub of activity, including superior culinary demonstrations, dance performances, music, food vendors and event merchandise.
A popular component of the Steamboat All Arts Festival is the opportunity for event participants to learn hands-on from the artists through artist workshops.
