To honor our service men and women this Veterans Day, the Dumb Friends League is waiving the adoption fee on all pets for military members on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
As a salute to America’s armed forces, the Dumb Friends League says its Veterans Day adoption special is its way of giving back to those who have served and continue to serve our country.
“It’s a simple way for us to show our appreciation,” said Kristin Elliott, customer care manager for the Dumb Friends League. “Our veterans are already heroes to this country, and now they can be a hero to a homeless pet in need.”
All cat and dog adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip identification implant and a free office visit with a participating veterinarian. The standard adoption screening process still applies during all waived-fee promotions.
RTD-Denver says all active duty members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserves ride buses and light rail for free on Nov. 11. To ride free, active duty military personnel must either wear the appropriate Class A or Class B uniforms at the time of boarding or present to the driver or fare inspector an active duty military ID card with the words “Geneva Convention Identification Card” on the bottom.
Everyone gets free admission to Rocky Mountain National Park and national parks across the country on Nov. 11.
Veterans get free admission on Nov. 11 at Colorado’s state parks. You will need to show military ID, discharge papers or other proof of service at the park gate. All other passengers in the vehicle will also be admitted free.
The Denver Zoo is offering free admission for military veterans and active military on Tuesday, Nov. 11. Visitors must show a military or veteran organization ID, discharge papers or other official military identification.
The Douglas County Office of Veterans Affairs in conjunction with the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation will conduct a Veterans Day Tribute on Tuesday, Nov. 11, beginning 11 a.m. at the DC Veterans Monument Plaza located at the corner of Wilcox and Fourth streets in Downtown Castle Rock. National Restaurant Chains offering free meals for Veterans on Veterans Day.
Each Veterans Day many businesses large and small seek to give back a portion of their profits by offering free meals, deals and other freebies to our active duty and retired veterans. We have tried to find them all for 2015 and put them in the list below to thank you for your service. Veterans Day is always November 11th, it isn’t dependent on the day of the week.
This Veterans Day, Outback Steakhouse is again honoring all active and retired military members with a free Bloomin’ Onion and a Beverage by showing a valid military ID at participating restaurants on Nov. 11.
